Above the thistle, in Latin it reads ‘Dulcius ex asperis’ (weeter after difficulties) a tiny bee hovers above. Bees in heraldry symbolize diligence and tireless effort, hard work and industry. Handcrafted using an English wax seal dating from the 1830’s.
